Man only suffers because he takes so seriously what the Gods created for fun.
Personally, I agree with this. As many of you know, I'm pagan, and this saying does not fall in alignment with my belief of how the Gods created the Universe, but the Gods only created man so he can fight the forces of Chaos. If humanity were to be birthed in the current age, Marduk would only do so for fun.
Of course, there are some things that shouldn't be treated as such.
A child gets kidnapped, a soldier coming home with P.T.S.D., a woman is raped, a person is murdered; when these things happen, suddenly, life becomes a lot more serious.
But I agree with this statement [for the most part] because it's only once you can free yourself from the world as an individual, only then can one truly eliminate suffering.
