NOTE: Hello, fellow Cultists. Today I want to share with you the piece I had previously written and (impulsively) posted to the Blog. This piece meant a lot to me when I wrote it, and it sheds a lot of light on how I view The Cult in correlation with my beliefs, so I wanted to share it here in the forums to get some feedback on it in a constructive way.
I wanted to quickly thank everyone here for taking the time to read this if you choose to do so. You may not agree with what I wrote, or you may have problems with how it's written. I am posting this purely to get it out there for fellow cultists to weigh in on. I should never have posted this without the consent of the Inner Circle, however I hope it'll be better suited to be here in the forums. I love writing, and writing this piece was incredibly enjoyable for me. I'll admit, it's pretty all over the place and could use some editing, however I wanted to get it on the forums how it was written (although I did add some adjustments).
I wholeheartedly would love some critiques and criticisms below so I can improve my writing. I will never get better without the input of others. I hope that this piece at least gets some sort of point across. This piece was written to cover what my beliefs are as a Pantheist, however I tend to veer off a lot so I will attempt to write some sort of intro to this now...
As humans, we are insignificant. The argument of Pantheism and Deism is pointless in the end, as they both pertain to some sort of belief in Gods. I am not here to sway you into one or the other. However, I am here to clarify what being a Pantheistic believer means to me, and what my belief means for me personally. In the following sections, we will cover what Pantheism means, who HP Lovecraft is and why he's viewed as a prophet, and how Void Meditation and The Dreamlands relate (which I also discuss better and more in depth here). To start us off, a definition:
“Pantheism is the belief that reality is identical with divinity,[1] or that all-things compose an all-encompassing, immanent god.[2] Pantheist belief does not recognize a distinct personal god,[3] anthropomorphic or otherwise, but instead characterizes a broad range of doctrines differing in forms of relationships between reality and divinity” [x]
This is the current Wikipedia definition of Pantheism. With that definition fresh in the mind, let's consider Azathoth as the all-encompassing, immanent god. The Blind Idiot God created our reality when he fell asleep. We are all within Azathoth’s dream. As a Pantheist, we would not view Azathoth as a true being, but merely a title to put on our reality. Azathoth is our reality. We are all one within Him.
Another cultist mentioned to me the theory that we are all, in a sense, parts of Azathoth. With this I have to agree. Because we believe in the reality of Azathoth, we have then entered his “Dreamland” and are beings within this reality. For us, R’lyeh exists somewhere within our dreams. Cthulhu and the other Old Ones are within our reality because we believe in them.
Quantum Physics
Within the bible, in the section “The Great Old Ones”, there’s mention of Quantum Physics and Quantum Decoherence. These two principles are the basis of my belief within the cult. Let me explain further…
Let’s look at the theory of Schrodinger's Cat. A cat is put into a box, and the box is sealed. The cat has a 50/50 chance of survival. There is also a poisonous gas agent within this box that can be released at any moment. With this in mind we can consider the theory. This cat, until observed, is theoretically both alive and dead simultaneously. There are two realities that are true within each other at the same time. Only until observation is the reality of the situation revealed

There is also a theory called Quantum Decoherence, also outlined in the bible. This theory says that, once the box is opened, reality splits into two dimensions, with one reality being in one branch and the other being in another branch. In this sense, there is a reality where The Great Old Ones do exist, and there’s a reality where they do not.
It is also a common saying within the Cult to state that both Pantheism and Deism are true and not true simultaneously. We can't label one reality as being more true than another, as each reality is true for each individual experience. This is true on even a quantum level. Reality settles on one distinct reality once the reality is observed, so what if we just never observe the reality? In that reality, both are true at once.
H.P. Lovecraft - The Prophet

In our reality, H.P. Lovecraft was born. From a young age he was able to lucid dream, creating odd realities within his dreams. He had access to the Dreamlands as he outlined in his stories. These stories, although presented as fiction, were recreations of the Dreamlands he had entered within his mind. Without Lovecraft, we would’ve never been exposed to the reality of the Mythos, and Cthulhuism would’ve never existed, or rather taken a different form not relating to Cthulhu and the creatures within the Mythos.
Because of H.P. Lovecraft, an entirely new world opened up to us. One only accessible through our subconscious minds. Reality split into a world where H.P. Lovecraft never existed, and one where he did. We just so happen to be lucky enough to have lived in the reality where he was alive.
Because of our Prophet, we are able to visualize exactly what the Dreamlands are, and possibly travel to them using Void Meditation and other rituals within the bible. Lucid Dreaming and Void Meditation are the only ways to truly access the Dreamlands. You’re able to dictate the reality you are in once Lucid Dreaming, and you're still partially conscious while Meditating which gives you more control over your astral body. However, you must have a good idea of what the Dreamlands look like. This is where sections in H.P. Lovecraft’s works come into importance.
The Dream Cycle
The Dream Cycle is a series of stories written by Lovecraft centered on the Dreamlands. If we are to access the Dreamlands, we must first understand how they are set up.

Above is a comprehensive map of the Dreamlands, composed through observation of the Dream Cycle. To get an idea of what the Dreamlands look like, we must first observe the stories H.P. Lovecraft wrote about them. Here is a link to a youtube video that contains all the stories within the Dream Cycle. If you don’t have a book, you can listen to this video. If you have a book, the description provides a list of all the stories within the Dream Cycle series.
Practicing the ability to Astral Project will also assist with the ability to access the Dreamlands even while waking. To be able to Astral Project is to be able to access dimensions outside of our conscious understanding. Astral Projection can also be used to travel through the Waking Lands as well. Void Meditation is useful to access the ability to Astral Project, as it trains your mind to disconnect with your physical body and slowly chips away at the blockage to your Third Eye.
In general terms, we are attempting to access your subconscious mind while in a waking state. There are many ways to do this, but it’s up to you to choose the way that is easiest or most interesting to you. Void Meditation is a great way to work on your Astral Body. Below is a description, from a Discord server I’m in called “The Witches Hearth”, that explains how to astral project better:
“For those looking to learn how to astral project or lucid dream I am here to give you some tips on how to learn. Now it doesn't come instantly like any sort of skill, and will take a good amount of effort. So without further adieu I shall now give the ways I used to learn how to astral project.
Meditating Before Sleep: meditating before sleep can help with astral projection because astral projecting is more or less a meditative state in which you are projecting yourself into the astral plane.
Having a very dim ambient light source: The ambient light source will likely keep you more aware, and therefore lowering your chances of falling asleep while attempting to astral project. ALTHOUGH it does this, I'd recommend not doing it as sleep is an important and basic need.
Being Comfortable: It is important that you are in a comfortable position, whether it is laying down or sitting up. This will make it easier to astral project as it will clear your mind of any discomfort associated with being in a weird position whilst doing so. And that will conclude my tips on astral projection for now, if help is needed. Or if there are questions shoot me a ping.”
Here is a link on how exactly to astral project. I recommend reading this and following it as best you can, as I don't believe I could give a better description on how to astral project than this post does. Generally what I tell people is to imagine yourself climbing out of your own body. This could be up a ladder, or maybe down a flight of stairs. Whatever mode of ascent or descent is easiest for you to visualize. The body leaving your waking body is called your "astral body". This body can be used to traverse the Dreamlands and other places in the Astral Plane.
Conclusion
In the end, your belief is your belief. This is just for people to get an idea of where I come from. I personally believe that you create the reality that you want. If you want The Great Old Ones to exist, they exist for you. You cannot make things exist for others as their reality is not yours. All we can do is guide others in the direction we believe will help them the most.
I encourage conversation over what I've discussed above, as I know not everything is explained as in-depth as I would've liked. I will gladly make another post to discuss topics that I may have skimmed over (such as how to properly astral project). I really do hope that this post may have intrigued you. If you're curious about anything that I've written above, I will either respond in the comments or respond by making another post if I believe my response would have to be too long.
My intention in making this post is to open everyone up to alternative ways of believing in The Great Old Ones. I believe that the labels of Pantheistic or Deistic are pointless, as we all respect The Great Old Ones in one regard or another. The bible itself explains that these labels are unimportant, as they are both true and not true simultaneously. In the end it's all about respecting each other. Respect is an important thing between us. We are a family. Brothers and Sisters, I hope I shed a light on how I view Pantheism, HP Lovecraft, and The Dreamlands. I would appreciate further discussion in the comments below about your own personal beliefs and what they mean to you. Take care!
