Most of the Old Ones have a hidden number that it is used for the mandala of the Great Old Ones. Starting with Dagon. Dagon and Hydra are part man/woman and part fish in one form. 2+1=3 Number three describes the geometry of the triangle, in Dagon/Hydra's case describes the inverted tringle that symbolises the element of water. It also represents fertility.
Cthulhu is part octopus part man and part dragon in one form. 3+1=4 Number four describes the square and it represents the element of the earth and our material plane.
Shub Niggurath the only form that has humanoid form is the form that is part woman and part goat. 2+1=3 He have the tringle again but this time with fire, not in the sense that Shub Niggurath identifies with the element of fire but fire here symbolises the strong, fiery and sexual character of Shub Niggurath. Azathoth is the center and the creator of all. And Yog-Sothoth is the all in one and the one in all, he is everywhere and nowhere, he is everywhere and everything. So that means that Azathoth is core of everything and Yog Sothoth. In this case Azathoth is the center of the universe and Yog Sothoth is the one who surrounds him as he is the universe as a whole, which leads to this symbol. Azathoth is the dot in the center and Yog-Sothoth that circle that surrounds it. This is also the alchemycal symbol of gold and it is not a coincidence I guess that Donald Tyson assosiated gold with Azathoth. So we can see that with these we can make a nice mandala.
A sphere (Yog-Sothoth) that inside of it resids a cube (Cthulhu), in the cube are the pyramids (Dagon/Hydra, Shub-Niguurath) and in the pyramids there is a spining spiral (Azathoth). There is something more here. I mentioned before that R'lyeh is reality (The unreality of this reality actually). The cube also represents the fieary world the universe as we know it. If sacred geometry is how reality works then R'lyeh works with non-euclidian geometry symbolising the unreality of this reality. If you look closely there is another cube in the center. Here not we inproved the model but another element showed up...the element of the air. Which originaly looks like this
The element of air it Lovecraftian Magick is assosiated with Hastur the King in Yellow. The question here is...where is Nyarlathotep? Nyarlathotep is the pilar of everything he is the lines that connects evrything with each other. We also can see that inside there there is hexagram which many would call it the star of david but in reality in sacred geometry this represents the balance between the male and the female gender, meaning Nug and Yeb. We can clearly see that here are the four elemnts, which leads us to the Elder Sign of August Derleth. Earth, Water, Fire, air and the Spirit (Azathoth) and the Circle (Yog-Sothtoth).
The eye represents the third eye. The ‘eye’ suggests the opening if the Ajana Chakra, or Third Eye, symbolizing the facility of astral vision and the connection with nature and the Gods. So now the Elder Sign stops to be a symbol that is against the Old Ones but now it becomes a very useful tool for the practitioner.
